The Lost
A downloadable game
The game is a 3D third-person action-adventure that blends the whimsical charm of fairy tales with the gritty aesthetic of steampunk. Set in a divided world, the story revolves around the growing tension between humans and animal-people—beings who were once ordinary animals, now transformed into humanoid creatures through mysterious means. Feared and ostracized, these animal-people live as outcasts in a society that refuses to accept them.
The world itself is a striking hybrid of fairytale and steampunk influences. The Human City, a sprawling industrial metropolis powered by steam and magic, is a place of rigid control and innovation, where few animal-people dare to reside. Beyond its borders lies an untamed island, home to animal-people and dangerous magical creatures who thrive in the wild, magical landscapes.
You play as a bunny-person protagonist, a character who has lost everything to the cruelty of humans. Desperate to reclaim her shattered life, she forms a pact with a mysterious entity known only as the Beast. The Beast promises her unimaginable power, but at a cost: she must complete dangerous and morally ambiguous tasks in his name. With each task, she grows stronger, unlocking enhanced combat skills, heightened senses, and even magical abilities. But these gifts come with a price—each time she draws upon the Beast’s power, she risks losing her sanity, gradually adopting monstrous traits of the creature.
As her journey unfolds, she encounters a young boy cursed to transform into a feral beast, unable to control himself. Drawn together by shared suffering, the two form an unlikely bond and embark on a perilous quest to the Human City, where rumors speak of a witch capable of breaking the boy’s curse. Along the way, their relationship deepens, evolving into a found-family dynamic that becomes the emotional heart of the story.
The gameplay centers on player-driven choices that shape the protagonist’s development, her relationships, and the world itself. The Beast’s tasks provide opportunities to grow stronger, but they also pull her further into his grasp, testing her morality and sense of self. At critical moments, the boy begins to distrust the Beast, urging her to break free from his influence. If you heed the boy’s warnings, your bond with him will grow stronger, but your character will remain weaker by the game’s end. Alternatively, if you continue to accept the Beast’s tasks, you’ll gain immense power, unlocking new abilities at the cost of your humanity—and your relationship with the boy.
These choices culminate in an emotionally charged experience, forcing players to weigh power against connection, and shaping the narrative in meaningful and lasting ways. With its richly imagined world, morally complex choices, and the deep bond between its characters, this game promises an unforgettable journey of self-discovery, sacrifice, and redemption.
